We're thrilled! Let's get to know each other.
You might be wondering, what's it really like at Hope Covenant Church? Simply stated, at Hope, we're all about community. You won't be met with shame, guilt, or condemnation. We welcome people who ask hard questions or who have had bad experiences with Christianity in the past. And we don't care how you're dressed or what candidate you voted for. Simply put, our community is made up of imperfect people with every kind of story imaginable.
We know meeting someone for the first time can be intimidating, and going to a new church for the first time can be nerve-racking. We want to help make your first experience at Hope Covenant Church a great one!
What to expect Sunday Morning
When you arrive, grab a cup of coffee in the foyer and head into the sanctuary. There will be greeters there so don't worry about having to find your way. Hope's service is about 60-70 minutes in length. Service begins at 10:00am with music led by our contemporary worship band- the song lyrics are projected onto to screen so you can sing along and/or engage with worship however you feel most comfortable. Don't like singing? Don't sing, it's that simple; you won't be the only one. After a couple songs we will generally have a few announcements and share in a time of prayer together. Then Our pastors or another speaker will then share a message (usually 20-25 minutes long) followed by a song or two. On the first and third Sunday of every month we offer communion to anyone who desires it. After worship, Cookies and Coffee are available in the Cafe' for everyone. Community is key at Hope so we always make time to hang out after worship.
What about my kids?
At Hope Covenant we take seriously that kid are our priority (not in small part because kids were Jesus' priority). As such we are committed to providing the best possible resources for families, support for youth, and programing for our Youth Ministries.
During the message, students from pre-school through fifth grade are invited to a time specifically designed for their growth. Students will do crafts, play games, and learn the stories of the bible in a contextual and relevant way for them which encourages interaction and questions. Nursery is available for children too young for class. Your kids safety and fun is our top priority which means we background check and vet everyone who works with kids. No exceptions.
During the service you will also find a kids table set up at the back of the sanctuary with activities, toys, and coloring pages available if you prefer to keep your kids with you. We don't mind if your kids make noise during the service either- EVERYONE is welcome.
